Bragg’s actions belie his fears
One day after Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in response to a new poll on violence in the city, that he feared for family and friends — his office released a knife-wielding suspect without bail.
Bragg’s office recommended the release of 22-year-old Deqon Massiah without bail.
The judge agreed to release the suspect however he said that the “highest level of monitoring is appropriate.”
Bragg’s earlier comments on violence came as a result of a shocking new poll from Siena College where 87% of the respondents said crime is a very or somewhat serious problem in the city.
“I know the statistics that transit crime is down, but when one of my family members gets on the train, I, too, get a knot in my stomach,” Bragg confessed in an interview.
My guess is Bragg did not include walking in Times Square as being dangerous. Well Mr. DA your actions and those of your office are making all of New York dangerous.
