Paladino is now driving the summer doldrums season
As August appears in the rear-view mirror, the month appears closer than it actually is when it comes to news.
The summer doldrums for news is coming early this year.
Take today's Post story about GOP Councilwoman Vickie Paladino was forced to explain why she had a British luxury car with questionable tags in her driveway. It's pointed out that Paladino is known for raging against unlicensed cars and fake paper tags.
The story is credited to a progressive anti-car, pro open streets blog called StreetsblogNYC.
Only later on in the article is the reasonable explanation is given that the car — a 2008 Aston Martin Vantage —is her son's collectible auto.
Since it is not registered — by law it must be off the street — hence sitting in a driveway.
The article only then states that the car is properly registered in NY now.
If you type summer news doldrums into a search engine powered by AI, this article would probably be on the first page of the returns.
Not sure how much I will be posting during the doldrums, but this story needed to be the poster child for what is coming our way until Labor Day.
